Biography
Becky has an academic background in Chemistry, holding a Masters degree in 'Chemistry with Medicinal Sciences' and an industry-funded PhD studying hetrogeneous catalysis systems for use in industrial oxidation processes. She has worked with various companies and international collaborators, including Honeywell LLC, University of Turin and James Cook University (Townsville, Australia).
Becky is an MSP-trained Programme Manager in the Bristol Innovations Programmes team. She is responsible for leading and managing research and innovation opportunities across strategic interdisciplinary programme areas to address the University’s global challenges. She works with senior Faculty stakeholders and collaborates with diverse Professional Services functions, to ensure programme visions are delivered in alignment with the University strategic ambitions and vision.
Becky joined the University in 2020 as Research Development Manager for the Faculty of Science, providing strategic support relating to UK research grant funding, coordinating the development of research activities, horizon scanning, training, provision of expert advice and guidance in the development of major research proposals, and managing the response to strategic funding initiatives. Before joining the University of Bristol, Becky held the same role at the University of Bath.
Becky worked for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in a number of roles, including Energy, Engineering, Business Engagement and Impact between 2012 - 2018. She has also worked for the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) as the Deputy Head of their Longitudinal Studies team.
