Research interests
I am currently a research associate in the Musculoskeletal Research Unit at the University of Bristol. I have completed a bachelor in Computer Business from the Lebanese University, Master in Technology of Information System and PhD in Human Computer Interaction from University of Joseph Fourier, France. In 2009, I moved to University of Montreal where I worked two years as postdoc.
I joined University of Bristol after a career break for family reasons thanks to a Daphne Jackson Trust fellowship sponsored by EPSRC. I will be working within the EPSRC funded programme of work called SPHERE (http://www/irc-sphere.ac.uk). SPHERE stands for Sensor Platform of Healthcare in a Residential Environment. My research focusses upon supporting older people desire to ‘’age in place’’. A particular focus is developing digital technologies to support older people independence and quality of life. This work involves older people and social care professionals in the design of a communication tool as part of the SPHERE house. I conduct both user-centered and participatory design studies to gain a better understanding of user needs and to enable older people to actively participate within the design of technology (designed by older people for older people).
