Natural disasters are becoming bigger and bigger problems in our world today, climate change is producing such events as hurricanes and tsunamis and they are becoming more and more common. Natural disasters are one of the less economically developed world's biggest problems killing millions each year and leaving more without shelter, food, clean water and basic healthcare. How do NGOs aid these people? Do they add to the problem? Would donations be better spent by governments than by NGOs? We hope to answer these questions and more by looking at aid agencies, governments and individual examples of disasters that have occurred in the last couple of years. |
