Summary

To understand the mechanisms underlying basic functions of the brain, such as synaptic transmission and plasticity, is of fundamental importance to the molecular basis of neurological conditions affecting learning and memory and/or implicated in Alzheimer's disease and epilepsy. My work is aimed principally at the role kainate receptors play in synaptic plasticity and in the development of epileptic conditions.
