Research summary

Lis Bates is Senior Research Associate in the Centre for Gender and Violence Research, working primarily on an ESRC-funded project on Justice, Inequalities and Gender-Based Violence, and an EU-funded project on Addressing Sexual Violence Against Refugee and Asylum-Seeking Women. In 2018 she is also conducting research with domestic violence perpetratators, evaluating intervention programmes as part of the ReProvide and DRIVE research teams at Bristol. 

Lis holds a PhD (2017) in honour-based abuse (HBA) and forced marriage in the UK, which examined police and victims' agencies case files to profile the nature of 1,500 abuse cases. She devised a ...
