Dr Hector Najera Catalan


PhD Social Policy (University of Bristol) BA Economics (UAM, Mexico) and MSc Economics (ITESM - Mexico).

He has worked on different projects for international organizations that aim to examine and produce valid, reliable and comparable poverty measures across countries and population groups. His research interests are the empirical examination of the properties of poverty measures and the spatial analysis of the distribution of poverty.

Hector has experience using a wide-range of statistical methods from different disciplines such as latent variable modelling, generalized linear models, panel-data analysis, multi-level models and spatial methods of analysis and visualization. Hector is fluent in R, Mplus, Stata, GeoDa, QGIS and... SPSS (when necessary!).
