Biography

Danielle Turney is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work and Director of the MSc in Advanced Social Work with Children and Families. She is a qualified social worker and has worked in local authority children and families social work.

After PhD research exploring anti-racist practice, she moved into social work education and training, initially at Goldsmiths College, University of London (1994-2001) where she taught on qualifying and post-qualifying level social work programmes, focusing on work with children and families and on child observation.

Danielle moved to the Open University in 2001 where she contributed to courses both within the social work programme and within the broader field of health and social care.

She took up her present post at Bristol University in October 2007.
