Research summary

 

Zuzana's research interests are in applied ethics, particularly in biomedicine. One of Zuzana’s research areas is the relationship between theory and practice. She is interested in professionalism (particularly codes of ethics, integrity and conscientious objections), and the respective roles of public discourse and academic bioethics in public policy making. Zuzana worked on this topic with Ruud ter Meulen on the EU-funded EPOCH project. Zuzana is co-lead of the Bristol team working on the EU-funded PRINTEGER project (Promoting Integrity as an Integral Dimension of Excellence in Research), examining speciically researchers' expereince of integrity and misconduct in the ...

Biography

Zuzana is a Teaching Fellow at the Centre for Ethics in Medicine and has undertaken a series of postdoc research positions to complement this role. Zuzana joined Bristol in 2008, having previously held a teaching position at Keele University. Zuzana's training is in philosophy and social science research methods. She is on the International Advisory Board for Research Ethics and is a member of Bath Clinical Ethics Committee.

In 2011 Zuzana was presented with the University of Bristol Rising Star Award for teaching. She teaches and organises units/ elements on the following programmes: MBChB, BSc Bioethics; PgDip Teaching and Learning for Healthcare Professionals. She ...
