Research summary

My main research interest is in nutrition, physical activity as a means of improving health and well being and my MSc dissertation was an assessment of factors influencing the implmentation of a commercial sector slimming organisation's (Slimming World) physical activity promotion component. I was previously involved in the DDELPHI study, which aimed to assess if it was feasible and acceptable for GPs to deliver a simple, low cost intervention to increase daily walking in inactive patients.

Biography

I received a BA(Hons) in Social Policy and Administration from Brighton University in 1992 and obtained an MSc from the University of Bristol in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health in 2008.

I joined the University of Bristol in 2005 assisting on the PITCH (Paracetamol and Ibuprofen for the Treatment of fever in Children) study in 2005.  I have also managed the Service User and Carer Development programme for the West Hub of the Mental Health Research Network, facilitating patient and public involvement in research.
