Activities / Findings

Ruth is a Senior Research Fellow within Bristol Medical School at the University of Bristol.  She is the Deputy-Director of the DECIPHer Centre in Bristol, an Honorary Consultant in Public Health with Public Health England and Specialty Tutor for academic public health training at the University. 

Ruth’s research interests include obesity prevention in children, health improvement in early year’s settings (nurseries and other child care settings) and multiple risk behaviour in adolescence. She is currently involved in a Cochrane Review of interventions to prevent multiple risk behaviours in young people and a number randomised trials of health improvement interventions for children and young people. Ruth is Principal Investigator for the NAP SACC UK feasibility trial in nurseries.
