Activities / Findings

Ruth is a Consultant Senior Lecturer in Public Health within Bristol Medical School at the University of Bristol.  She is Programme Director of the MSc Public Health, an Honorary Consultant in Public Health with Public Health England and Specialty Tutor for academic public health specialty registrar training at the University. Ruth is co-lead for the National Institute of Health Research School for Public Health Research programme on children, young people and families.

Ruth’s research interests include obesity prevention in children, health improvement in early years and multiple risk behaviour in adolescents. She is currently involved in a number of randomised controlled trials of health improvement interventions for children and young people. Ruth is Chief Investigator for the NAP SACC UK trial in nurseries.
