My research focuses in understanding the role that life course socioeconomic inequalities have in health outcomes, in particular, how social and economic factors “get under the skin” resulting in ill health. This includes work on measuring socioeconomic position in health research in a variety of contexts and countries; understanding the role of early life deprivation on adult mortality and morbidity; understanding the role of life course deprivation on childhood asthma and allergy phenotypes; and, the emergence of contextual factors in health outcomes.
