Research summary

Katrina is a Reader in Primary Care Research, and Joint-Head of the Centre for Academic Primary Care and the Bristol NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR). She is also a theme lead (ethnography) within the current CLAHRC west and a collaborator on the NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre.


Katrina has worked within health service/primary care research for over 20 years. She is a qualitative methodologist with a disciplinary background in social sciences applied to health. Biography

Katrina joined the Centre of Academic Primary Health Care in September 2004.  Prior to doing so she worked at the MRC Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, Glasgow, and at the University of Glasgow on mixed method studies that focused on the health and health behaviours of children and adolescents.

Katrina has a background in health sciences, health promotion and health education, and a PhD from a Department of Applied Social Science. Her PhD thesis focused on young women's views and experiences of teenage pregnancy and motherhood.
