Research summary

Jo is a social scientist with eight years of experience in qualitative research and policy engagement. She has experience of conducting in-depth interviews, focus groups and observations, and is currently further developing her qualitative, epidemiological and quantitative skills as part of a mixed methods PhD in Social Medicine. Jo is an ESRC-funded PhD student at the Centre for the Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement (DECIPHer)

Jo’s PhD research investigates approaches for promoting the uptake of chlamydia testing among men and women aged 16-24 in the UK. The study has two aims:

Jo is a mixed-methods researcher currently working on a project on sex and relationships education. This is a collaborative project conducted within the NIHR School for Public Health Research. The ultimate aim of the project is to develop and evaluate a sexual health education intervention for young people. The project is funded by the National Institute for Health Research School for Public Health Research (NIHR SPHR).
