Dr Helen Cramer

Since joining the Academic Unit of Primary Health Care in 2006, I have completed a research project examining advice giving about complementary and alternative medicines over-the-counter in pharmacies and health shops. I am currently working on a pilot study for a randomised controlled trial looking at a brief group cognitive behavioural therapy based intervention for women with mild to moderate depression from deprived areas (Back on Track: Groups for Women). Previous research projects have included working for a charity, Shared Care Network on a national survey of short breaks (respite care) for disabled children, and qualitative projects on weight and appetite loss after oesophageal surgery (Department of Social Medicine, Bristol University) and adolescent body image (University of Sussex).
