Research summary

My research interests include maternity care, decision making (including patient preferences) and health economics.

My PhD was titled "Decision making associated with antenatal screening for Down's syndrome" and was completed in 2011.  This was a mixed-methods PhD, incorporating a quantitative survey, qualitative interviews and a discrete choice experiment (DCE).

I have been involved in several health care related projects, covering topics including childhood illness, depression and vaccinations.

Biography

I graduated from the University of Durham in 2003 with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Psychology.  Following this I studied for an MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Derby (2007).  I came to Bristol following my MSc to pursue my 4-year MRC funded PhD in the Academic Unit of Primary Health Care.

In 2010 I was awarded a Postgraduate Travel Grant from the Alumni Foundation and travelled to Sydney, Australia to work with colleagues at the Centre for the Study of Choice, University of Technology, Sydney.  This allowed me to gain valuable experience of choice modelling and ...
