Summary

My research interests are in maternal and child health in relation to nutrition and the environment. I held a Daphne Jackson Fellowship in 2012-2014 and am currently a Wellcome Career Re-Entry Fellow (2015-2019). I manage projects on the environment in pregnancy in relation to child health and development, preschool child eating behaviour, and the effect of childhood nutrition on later body composition.

Expertise

My main areas of interest are in nutrition and environmental epidemiology. I am presently researching the effects of prenatal exposure to heavy metals, including lead, cadmium and mercury, on childhood outcomes such as growth and neurological development. I also lead a project on picky eating behaviour in children looking at the effects on nutrition, growth and other aspects of development.
