My research interests are in maternal and child health in relation to nutrition and the environment. I held a Daphne Jackson Fellowship in 2012-2014 and am currently a Wellcome Career Re-Entry Fellow (2015-2019). I manage projects on the environment in pregnancy in relation to child health and development, preschool child eating behaviour, and the effect of childhood nutrition on later body composition. From 2020 I will be running a project on dietary exposures to toxic metals in pregnancy funded by an MRC Career Development Award (2020-2025).

My main areas of interest are in nutrition and environmental epidemiology. I am presently researching the effects of prenatal exposure to heavy metals, including lead, cadmium and mercury, on childhood outcomes such as growth and neurological development. I also lead a project on picky eating behaviour in children looking at the effects on nutrition, growth and other aspects of development.
