My research interests stem from a diverse academic background involving language acquisition, sociolinguistics, teacher training, and the use of new technologies and media types. Further interests encompass socio-cultural anthropology and ethnography of the internet (i.e. virtual ethnography, technology reliance, ethnic identity, migration, language maintenance); intercultural communication (language classroom and ethnic-group interactions), and cross-cultural psychology (stress and acculturation).
