Undergraduate teaching

I convene and teach the following French undergraduate units:

  • Francophone Women Directors: Documentary Filmmaking (Year 4)

  • Seeing, Hearing and Thinking the Cinema of Jean-Luc Godard (Year 4)

  • Introduction to French Cinema (Year 2)

I also participate in the teaching of the final-year lanugage unit Translation into English, and the Year 1 units Shaping France and Reading Literary and Visual Cultures. 

I co-teach the following School-wide Modern Languages units:

  • Gender, Sexuality and Cinema (Year 4): the sessions I teach focus on queer identities.

Postgraduate teaching

I teach and supervise students taking the following units for the MA in Comparative Literatures and Cultures:

  • Theories of Visual Culture

  • Cultural Encounters

I have also acted as co-supervisor for the MPhil research programme in French. 

Teaching qualifications

I am a Fellow of CREATE Level 2 (Cultivating Research and Teaching Excellence) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I am also a qualified TESOL teacher (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). In addition to university teaching, I participate in outreach film events with local secondary schools in Bristol.
