Mr Henry Webber

Integration of Archaeology and Precision Farming

My research interests include archaeological geophysics, dataset integration using GIS platforms, archaeological prospection and heritage management. I am also very interested in soil research, Precision Farming and agronomy.

The main focus within my PhD is to investigate the use of archaeological and agricultural datasets to provide better information on soil variation in the UK. Specifically looking at how archaeological information might be useful for the development of Precision Farming, which is a major new area of agricultural innovation and development (UK Agri-tech Strategy). Also increasing the awareness of archaeologists to the types and quantities of agricultural data that is now being collected on farms in the 21st century.
