Dr Simon Gray
Simon has a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and a PhD in the same discipline from King's College, University of London. Following postdoctoral research at NERC Institute of Terrestrial Ecology Merlewood, Simon spent 8 years at the then University of Luton as Lecturer then Senior Lecturer in Microbiology. He has also worked as a consultant microbiologist in the area of environmental monitoring, and in academic management for an international medical school. Simon joined RED in 2006 as a Research Development Manager. He provides strategic support relating to UK research grant funding, including horizon scanning, training, provision of expert advice and guidance in the development of major research proposals, and management of the response to strategic funding initiatives.
