Research summary

Highly variable emission from accreting black hole systems arises when photons are up-scattered to X-ray energy levels by Compton processes. The resulting bright X-ray region can be reflected off the accretion disc causing a time delay in the observed spectrum. I investigate these spectra to better understand the dynamics of active galaxies and assist in the development of the extended corona region modelling.
