Research summary

I have over 25 years of experience of working with companies involved in the development and commercialisation of innovative technologies for use in the water, process and construction industries. In the early stages of this, as a fluids specialist, I worked on various two-phase flow technologies, including vortex, venturi and other fluidic technology. Through accumulation of experience, my sphere of activity has broadened into other technology areas, though with a retained emphasis on the development and commercialisation of technology for industrial, and in particular, environmental applications.

From 1993-1997, through my PhD, I undertook work on a solid-liquid vortex fluidiser, which continues to be used in the oil and gas industry. Gaining competence as a fluids specialist, I joined Airbus for a short period, working on wing pneumatic systems, before becoming Development Manager, and later, Group Technical Manager, for Hydro International plc, a water-environmental technology business.
