Research summary

A multi-disciplinary multi-faceted approach to understanding the corrosion of uranium in different systems, focusing on the influence of stress on the location and morpholgy of corrosion features. Numerical modelling and experimental data will be used to quantify and predict the effects of stress fields across a uranium metal- metal oxide interface.

Biography

Jolene earned her MSci in Environmental Geoscience at Bristol, and has continued to use the multi-disciplinary skills in physics, chemistry, geology and materials analysis to study nuclear materials and their corrosion for her PhD.
