Biography

After a degree in engineering at Oxford I joined the Statistical Signal Processing Lab in Cambridge for my PhD. I was fortunate to be surrounded by people passionate about probabilistic modeling and algorithms. This environment influenced the direction of my thesis towards Monte Carlo filtering algorithms. After my PhD I took up a Brunel Postdoctoral Fellowship in Bristol, which gave me the freedome to explore the interface between statistical methodology and applied probability. In 2010 I joined the permanent faculty in Bristol as a Lecturer in Statistics. I became Senior Lecturer in 2017.
