Biography

As an undergraduate at Oxford I studied engineering, or more specifically engineering science as it was called there, which meant that I got to try a bit of everything but by the end of my studies I specialized in electrical engineering and became particularly interesting in signal processing.

In 2005 I joined the Signal Processing Lab in the Department of Engineering at Cambridge as a Ph.D. student. The SigProc lab has remarkable history in Bayesian statistical modelling and I was lucky to spend time with many bright young people there interested in data modelling and inference algorithms.
