Research summary

My research interests are in Algebra, mainly in Lie theory and group theory.

One area I am interested in is the study of algebraic groups and their subgroup structure, in particular Serre's notion of complete reducibility has played a central role in my research so far. A subgroup X of an algebraic group G is said to be completely reducible if whenever it is contained in a parabolic subgroup P of G it is contained in a Levi subgroup of P. When G is GL(V), this is equivalent to V being a completely reducible X-module. It is therefore ...
