Mr Omar Madhloom


Omar joined Bristol in September 2017. He teaches Clinical Legal Studies and Criminal Law. His research focuses on autonomy, consent and legal ethics. He holds a current practising certificate.

Before joining Bristol, Omar was Law Clinic Director at De Montfort University, having previously established the law clinic at the University of Sunderland in 2013. After an internship at an international law firm in Dubai, he completed his training contract in England. Omar then joined the Crown Prosecution Service as a prosecutor. From 2005 to 2008, he was a researcher at the Advanced Research and Assessment Group (a former department of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom) and Janes Intelligence Review. Omar has conducted cases in the Magisgrates' Court, the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal (Criminal Devision).
