Miss Louise Hatherall

My research interests are in Intellectual Property Law and genetic inventions. I am particularly interested in how patent law impacts genetic research, human health and society. My doctoral research seeks to empirically study patent law "on the ground" in the face of constant and rapid scientific innovation. This research also looks at the implications of patent law and how it affects access to genetic tests, medicines and its impact on future biotechnological research.

I have an LLB (University of Kent, 2011) and an MSc with Distinction in Socio-Legal Studies (University of Bristol, 2015).

I am a member of the SWDTC and received ESRC Funding (1 + 3 Scholarship) to complete my doctoral research.
