Research summary

Kathryn is a final year PhD candidate in the Department of Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). The working title for her doctoral thesis is: “Establishing Responsibility for causing displacement: the role of ‘Displacing Third States'”. Through a legal-doctrinal methodology, drawing on a multi-doctrinal approach comprising International Humanitarian Law (IHL), International Criminal Law (ICL) an International Human Rights Law (IHRL), it scrutinizes the responsibility of ‘displacing third States’ (DTS) for causing displacement. Biography

Teaching Associate at Bristol University Law School, teaching Trusts and Constitutional Law. Kathryn is finalising her PhD based at Queen Mary University of London. Kathryn's research explores the establishment of state responsibility for breaches of international law. She is the Managing Editor of the International Community Law Review Journal.  She is also a Research Assistant on a Horizon 2020 Project called PROTECT which studies the impacts of the United Nations’ ‘Global Refugee Compact’ and ‘Global Migration Compact’ on the functioning of the international refugee protection system.
