Biography

Jennifer joined the University of Bristol Law School in August 2014.  She researches broadly in the field of criminal law and criminal justice, and has research interests in human rights law, the regulation of work and migration law.  Her current research projects include: an examination of how the criminal law regulates precarity at work (funded by the SLS); dishonesty and property offences; coercive preventive measures in the labour market.  Jennifer's research adopts a doctrinal, theoretical and inter-disciplinary approach to contemporary criminal law problems.  Jennifer welcomes applications from research students interested in a broad range of criminal law and criminal justice issue (contact her on jennifer.collins@bristol.ac.uk).

Prior to joining the Law School, Jennifer lectured at St Peter's College, Oxford (2011-14).  She studied Law as an Undergraduate and Postgraduate at the University of Oxford, reading for the BA in Law (first class), the BCL (distinction), and then the DPhil in Law (supervised by Professor Andrew Ashworth).
