University Research Fellowships (URFs)

University Research Fellowship (URF) award enables academic staff (pathway 1) to carry out a dedicated research project lasting twelve months.  The financial support of £10,000 covers the costs of replacement teaching, assessment and clinical responsibilities during that period.

The URF nomination process for 2019/20 applicants will remain the same as for 2018/19: Awards to be made by Faculties.

Departments/Schools and Faculties will need to set their own internal deadlines for the receipt of URF nominations - please check with your Faculty Office for details.

Faculties must inform the IAS of their URF awards for 2019/20 by 5pm, Fri 15 February 2019.
