Dr Oliver Wing

Oliver recently submitted his PhD thesis entitled "Understanding flood risk at large spatial scales". Fully funded by flood analytics firm Fathom, he studied for his PhD under Paul Bates and Jeff Neal at the University of Bristol, having first obtained a First Class Geography degree there, also under their supervision, in 2016. He now has a postdoctoral position at the university in partnership with Fathom, developing global CAT models.

In collaborations which include Google, The Nature Conservancy, the US EPA and the Iowa Flood Center, Ollie has published various research papers relating to testing, applying and developing Fathom-US: a flood hazard model of the entire contiguous United States.
