Research summary

My interests extend from the broad study of the variability of the global water cycle in our changing climate, to the more specific use of remote sensing techniques to analyse soil-vegetation-atmosphere interactions. My earlier work focuses on the validation and error characterisation of global satellite-based remote sensing products, especially surface soil moisture datasets. Thereafter my research activity centred on the development of GLEAM, a satellite-based methodology to derive global evaporation. I work with different global and regional-scale evaporation datasets and have collaborated with the LandFlux-GEWEX initiative and taken part of the ESA WACMOS-2 project.
