Research summary

My research is primarily focussed on individuals with learning disabilities and the development of interventions to support memory and language. My previous research has focussed on supporting individuals with Down syndrome, and my PhD was aimed at developing interventions to support verbal short-term memory among this population. I also have a keen interest in the use of technology to facilitate effective intervention approaches. I have been involved in developing apps to support language abilities among children with Down syndrome, as well as developing technology apps to detect early dementia related changes among adults with Down syndrome. Biography

I was awarded a BSc Psychology degree from the University of Leicester in 2009. I then worked as a teaching support assistant at Warwickshire College, and a voluntary teaching assistant at Ashfield School in Leicester which provides for a complex mix of special needs. I developed a strong interest and enjoyment of working with individuals with special needs and learning difficulties. I completed an MSc in Research Methods at the University of Bristol in 2011.
