Summary

Visual perception, particularly face perception and perception of time

Biography

After graduating from the University of Exeter with a BA in English Literature, I worked in finance in the London office of PwC where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Following a career break to raise my children, I returned to academia, obtaining a BSc (first class) in Experimental Psychology and an MSc (with distinction) in Research Methods in Psychology from the University of Bristol. I am interested in all aspects of visual perception. My undergraduate and MSc research investigated sub-second time perception and my PhD research explores the perception of facial identity, investigating how we recognise people from their faces and how that may be affected by facial expressions. I am the postgraduate representative on the Bristol Vision Institute (BVI) Management Board, and a PhD representative on the School of Experimental Psychology Equality and Diversity Committee. I am also Secretariat to the Applied Vision Association (AVA).
