My research focuses on the applications of composite materials at the structure level. To this aim, I develop numerical methods and frameworks designed to take advantage of the tailorability of composite materials as a means to improve structural performances. In particular, the aeroelastic optimisation of wind turbine rotors is one of my main research interest.

Terence Macquart is a Lecturer at the Bristol Composites Institute (ACCIS) in the Faculty of Engineering in Bristol UK. He earned his Master degree in system control engineering in France at Université de Valenciennes in 2011. He then continued his studies at Northumbria University (UK) where he earned his PhD degree on the topic of aero-servo-elastic control for smart wind turbine blade in 2014. He next moved to a post-doctoral researcher position at the department of aerospace structure and material at Delft University of Technology. He, afterward, secured a post-doctoral researcher position at the University of Bristol under the EPSRC funded Supergen Wind research grant project. His current research interests include aero-servo-elastic design and optimisation of wind turbine blades, multi-disciplinary optimisation and composites design and optimisation.
