Research summary
Novel Sensor Development
- Developing high-sensitivity resonant inductive sensors for industrial sub-millimetre and grain boundary defect-detection in difficult to inspect materials.
- Designing and testing novel sparse array sensors and innovative operation techniques for industrial applications, including the inspection of carbon-fibre composite inspection and aerospace superalloys.
- Currently identifying and modifying sparse image reconstruction methods to evaluate array data-sets for the characterisation of complex material structures such as carbon-fibre reinforced composites.
Inversion Modelling
- Developing finite element and circuit abstraction simulations to model and predict the resonant behaviour of inductive sensors to build databases for the inversion of material defects.
- Evaluating and characterising ...
