Research summary

My current research is investigating whether the energy needs and priorities of refugee communities in Rwanda are being accurately considered and to evaluate the appropriateness of renewable energy interventions and market-based delivery mechanisms made as part of the £10m Renewable Energy for Refugees Programme.

The research is funded by an EPSRC DTP scholarship and draws on a range of theories including those from engineering, the social sciences and anthropology.

I’m a doctoral researcher interested in access to energy in humanitarian relief.

Prior to joining the University of Bristol, I completed an MSc in Sustainability and Adaptation at the Centre for Alternative Technology and a BSc in Climate Change and Energy Management at the University of the West of England, Bristol.

I have also spent several years in industry, primarily working in the renewable energy and low-emissions transport fields.
