Inverse methods applied to parameter identification and optimisation problems
Dr Christian Knipprath graduated from Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany) with a Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering. He then joined Cranfield University in the EU founded FP6 project PreCarBi (Materials, Process and CAE Tools Developments for Pre-Impregnated Carbon Binder Yarn Preform Composites) for his doctoral studies. He has worked on the development of finite element models for composite materials in a cured and preform stage, experimental testing for material characterisation and model validation purposes and the identification of material parameters for constitutive laws using inverse methods. Currently he is a member of the Advanced Composite Centre for Innovation and Science (ACCIS) researching ...
