Dr Paul Harper

Biography

After undertaking a Year in Industry with Rolls-Royce between school and university in 1999, working on gas turbine performance, I completed an Aeronautical Engineering MEng at Bristol between 2000 and 2004. I have remained part of the Department of Aerospace Engineering ever since, initially undertaking my PhD, then extending this work as a Research Assistant, before being appointed as a Lecturer in Engineering Design in July 2011. I am currently a Programme Director for the Engineering Design course.

Since 2008, I have worked closely with Low Carbon South West, formerly the Bristol Environmental Technology & Services Sector (BETS), focusing mainly on developing improved links between the University and environmental technology companies. I have also been involved with the development of the University's Cabot Institute, a multidisciplinary research institute dedicated to tackling the challenges of uncertain environmental change, and I am a co-leader of the Low Carbon Energy Research Theme.
