    Abstract

Video ethnography can facilitate the understanding of micro-processes of behaviour in model-driven wide-band Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS). Grounded in socio-cultural activity theory, this paper develops a theoretical and methodological multi-method approach for the analysis of video data, combining coding processes with interpretive multimodal analysis of key incidents. By coding and interpreting in-situ behaviours, we gain insight into cooperative, transformative and disputational micro-processes that shape model interactions during a GDSS intervention. We conclude with suggestions for further research, seeking to further develop conceptual links between socio- cultural activity and distributed cognition for teamwork
