Mahdi Azarpeyvand is a Professor of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, at the Mechanical Engineering Department. His main fields of research are acoustics, aeroacoustics, fluid mechanics and turbulence. Mahdi also holds a Royal Academy of Engineering research fellowship (2011-2016) to conduct research on the development of new technologies for improving the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic performance of rotating blades using passive and active flow-control methods. His other research interests are: Jet noise, sound propagation effects, acoustic trapping and acoustic radiation force.


Dr M. Azarpeyvand is interested in taking PhD students.
