The main focus of his research is working with development of FPGA hardware architectures for neuroprocessors and implement a reconfigurable embedded system which can support a complete hybrid system with both biological and artificial neurons as part of the Biochip project.
Juan Carlos Moctezuma Eugenio obtained his Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (BUAP), Mexico in 2005. After that, he completed his MSc degree in Computer Science at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), Mexico in 2008. He developed a FPGA-based platform for mobile robotics applications as part of his studies.
He is currently a PhD student the supervision of Dr Jose Nunez Yanez and Professor Joe McGeehan. He is sponsored by the Government of Mexico through the Mexican National Council for Science and Technology (CONACyT).
