Research summary
At the University of Bristol, my recent research work has been on ultrasonic wave scattering and adaptive array imaging. This includes the development of fundamental understanding of ultrasound propagation in complex media and its interaction with various scatterers through analytical and numerical models. Improved array imaging algorithms have been developed that exploit mode conversions and lead to the first engineering implementation of multi-mode array imaging. Extraction of the scattered ultrasonic field (termed scattering matrix) has also led to enhanced defect characterization.
