Biography

  • Graduated in Mechanical Engineering, University of Wales
  • 1946 Armstrong-Siddeley Stress Office - 1st generation turbo prop engines
  • 1947 British Messier -
  • Undercarriage design, stressing, kinematics, and dynamics
  • Hydraulic Systems, Powered flying control system design and analysis

Most of this work was in association with Bristol Aeroplane Co, (a predecessor member of British Aerospace), involving close co-operation with BAC's structures design office.

1958 English Electric Aviation guided weapons division at Stevenage, another predecessor BAE company. Head of Airframe Technical Group having responsibility for stress, aeroelastics, and structural test, R&D contracts from MoD/DTI.
