Biography

Dr. Evangelos Mellios is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Bristol since February 2019.

Evangelos received a PhD in Wireless Communications from the University of Bristol in 2014, an MSc in Communication Systems and Signal Processing from the University of Bristol in 2008, and a Diploma (5-years curriculum) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2007.

After working as postgraduate and postdoctoral researcher on several projects in the field of antennas and radio propagation, Evangelos was appointed as Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol in August 2015. His world-leading research in 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and IoT wireless communication systems has led to more than 70 journal and conference publications, and his work has influenced significantly the 3GPP global standards for 4G and 5G wireless channel modelling and system development. 

Evangelos is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
