Research summary

David joined the Centre for Communications Research at the University of Bristol in 2007 where he is currently undertaking a PhD under the supervision of Professor Andy Nix and Professor Mark Beach.

In 2008 he was awarded the IET’s Robinson Research Scholarship for his research.

In addition to his PhD, which is in collaboration with Motorola UK, he has worked on large 3CR/DTI projects including VISUALISE. His main research interests include multi-element processing, intelligent scheduling and PHY/MAC cross-layer interaction in future broadband wireless access technologies including mobile WiMAX and LTE.

Biography

David Halls received his MEng in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Bristol in 2007. He joined the Centre for Communications Research at the University of Bristol later that year where he is currently undertaking a PhD under the supervision of Professor Andy Nix and Professor Mark Beach. In 2008 he was awarded the IET’s Robinson Research Scholarship for his research.
