Advances in dual polarisation radar technology have increased rainfall measurement accuracy, making it an essential tool for hydrology, operational flood forecasting, engineering design of flood control structures, operation and control of urban storm and wastewater treatment systems, water supply forecasting, groundwater recharge assessments, etc.
