Research summary

PhD Research began September 2012 and is expected to finish in the latter half of 2015. The project is an Industrial CASE project through EPSRC and British Telecom. It is being undertaken at the Department of Engineering Mathematics and the Intelligent Systems Laboratory - University of Bristol.

My field of research and development is the fusion of the following:

  1. Fuzzy Set Theory (as conceived by Zadeh et al in the 1960s onwards)
  2. Association Rule Mining (as conceived by Agrawal et al in the early 1990s onwards)
  3. Linked Data with Semantic Web Ontologies

My first degree was a BSc(Hons) in Intelligent Systems and Software Engineering which I received in 2007 from Oxford Brookes University. My top graded final year report was titled "Adding Semantics to Social Web Tagging Systems"

In the Summer of 2006 I was a Visiting Researcher Intern at the Knowledge Media Institute, a department at The Open University in Milton Keynes. During my time there I researched and developed Social Semantic Systems (primarily Semantic Folksonomies).
